The Power of One for Special Needs youth provides ballroom and social dance lessons for children, teens and young adults ages 6-21 with disabilities in a friendly, safe and non-judgmental environment.
For children with disabilities such as a sensory processing disorders, autism, or other socio-emotional or physical difficulties, enjoyable activities and opportunities is limited. Children with these needs might have decreased attention skills, difficulty interacting with peers, limited body awareness, or difficulty interacting in social situations. Social dancing allows for self expression and participating in group and partner dancing can improve social skills, self awareness, physicality and mental cognition.
